It’s been a great year, but it is quickly drawing to a close.  There are just a couple more exciting HMP3 events coming up that you won’t want to miss.  IF YOU’VE GOTTEN INTO A HEALTH PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL, PLEASE WRITE BACK AND LET ME KNOW!  I’m supposed to report on the success of as many students as I possibly can, and I’d love to include you!  Please read my send-off message at the bottom of this email, and have a great summer everyone!    

 

HMP3 HIGHLIGHTS:  

1.    Interested in becoming a Peer Mentor next year for our HMP3 Peer Mentor Program?  All HMP3 members are invited to the PMP end of year Hawaiian Luau banquet this week on Tuesday June 3rd, in PC WEST BALLROOM B from 6:00-8:30 pm (you can come and go as necessary). There will be tons of FREE FOOD catered by Koon Thai Kitchen, a Photo Booth, lots of prizes and surprises so if you are a member of Peer Mentor Program or are just interested in learning how to join next year please come and join the fun! RSVP as soon as possible. We hope to see you all there in your best florals and summer colors!  Click Here to RSVP

3.     Precision Scribes is a medical scribe company new to town. They will be speaking on campus onWednesday, June 4 at 5:30 pm in the Leichtag building at the medical school, about their exciting new pilot program at Children’s Hospital.  They are looking to hire and train new scribes and hope to expand to other hospitals in the area, too!  Come learn about becoming a scribe—what they do, how they are trained, etc. and get your questions answered.  Find out how you can become one, too!  You can learn more about Precision Scribes athttp://precisionscribes.com.  (Leichtag is the first building you come to on your left when you cross Gilman Drive on Library Walk onto the medical school campus.)

Note from Adele:  This is a great way to get excellent clinical exposure—something every health profession is looking for in their applicants!

 

4.     The HMP3 Silent Auction is now open and will close on Wednesday, June 4th at 4:30 pm.  Bids will be accepted by email, one bid only per student.  Bidding begins at $1,150.  The course normally sells for $2,299.  You may place your bid by simply responding to this email.  Please submit your email address and phone number, along with your bid.  ***You must be prepared to pay for your winning bid no later than noon on Friday, June 6th or the course will go to the next highest bidder—either check or cash***

Note from Adele:  This is one of HMP3’s main fundraisers.  If you’re going to buy a course anyway, why not give the money to HMP3 to help support our many helpful programs for students?

6.  Discounted Practice MCAT tests from the AAMC will continue to be  for  sale by HMP3 until the “old” MCAT is no longer being administered—at the end of January 2015.  I get them for $20 and I sell them to you for--$20!  It’s a nice discount from the $35 the AAMC charges.  To order, please write and tell me which tests you want to buy, then you must PAY BEFORE I PLACE THE ORDER (either check or cash).  This is a service I am happy to provide for HMP3 members!
